PROFILE: The Toronto Basketball

TBC Logo.jpg

At the Toronto Basketball Club (TBC), campers ranging from the ages of 6 to 20 years old can learn, train, and develop new basketball skills. At the camp, they provide a wide variety of training to get their campers active and energized.

The camp is located at St. Patrick’s Secondary School, 49 Felstead Avenue. This organization was founded in the year 2000. While helping to develop and train young athletes for 17 years, they decided to expand their horizons and started to open summer camps 2 years ago. The objective of these camps are to train and develop the skills of young athletes in hopes they could one day continue their career in basketball.

One of the reasons behind the success to the camp is the amazing camp counselors. The staff encourage their campers to do their best and strive for improvement. TBC partnered with the Focus on Youth program because they wanted to provide youth an opportunity to be employed and encourage upcoming youth to become future athletes.

PROFILE: Live for Ball

lfb.png

Live for Ball (LFB) is a summer camp which provides basketball skills to their campers. Their main goal is to build team and individual qualities in a fun and positive environment. Their motto, “It’s your life, live it!” proves that this camp gives their campers what they need in order for them to have the best camp experience.

DSC_0282.JPG

The organization was founded in 2008 by Isaac King and Katrina Sorra, and every year their growth is very notable. The camp is located at Blessed Cardinal Newman CHS, 100 Brimley Road S. Given their close proximity to the Scarborough Bluffs, the camp goes on regular walks down to the Bluffs to get their campers energized. Throughout the day, they do basketball drills and games. Cheering and positive attitudes are an asset at this camp as all the campers are supportive of each other throughout the day’s activities.

DSC_0349.JPG

Each year, they seek athletes, new and old, to be in their camp. They hope to help campers live their dreams and to find their own individuality. No matter where a child comes from, they can easily come to LFB to relieve their own stress and have fun. They believe in all of their campers and with enough focus and determination, their campers can do great things.
