PROFILE: St. Martha’s Centre for Spanish Speaking People Camp

The Centre for Spanish Speaking Peoples infuse the languages and culture into the activities the children do, including Spanish lessons and a guest artist choreographing a dance for some of the campers. Each child’s abilities are embraced and worked to be improved.

Beautiful dancers preparing for their showcase!

Not only do kids have fun at St. Martha but educational services are provided as well. Campers are split into classrooms based on age where they are given lessons about numeracy and literacy, strengthening each child’s abilities for the upcoming school year.

St. Martha holds special events for the campers, for example a Concert at the end of the camp. In the afternoon, it is clear that many of the kids are determinedly practicing their acts for the big day. There are also field trips in the community, such as swimming as well as beyond!
