The Child Experience (TCE) is a non-profit summer camp organization devoted to making sure kids are having fun and kept active over the summer! Throughout the 6 weeks at TCE, campers are given the opportunity to interact with other kids their age, making friends while being involved in a variety of activities that will keep them engaged. From artsy activities that challenge their creativity to physical activities like basketball to keep them moving, and teambuilding exercises that will strengthen their bonds and connections! And one of TCE’s Various camps is their Midland Location at Lord Roberts Junior Public School!
Basketball!
The average day involves the kids taking part in multiple activities split into rotations, the artistic activities to bring out the campers true artist in them and depict any fun thing they want, and to the drama activities and the gym based activities where they get to take part in physical activities (Like the game of basketball above!) throughout the day in-between breaks and lunch.
During break/lunch, the kids got the chance to do some drawing and craft making!
For the campers drama exercise on the 8th, they were put into groups and tasked with creating a dance based on a song of their choice! The campers got really imaginative with it making their dances/performances based from songs like Barbie girl to the duck song!
After the Dancing Competition ends, they played a quick game of Simon Says and ended off the day with freezies!
Overall, TCE values creating a safe and joyful experience for kids over the summer with committed and hardworking counselors aspiring to be a positive influence in their lives, mentoring and connecting with them!
