H4 Community is a non-profit organization led by students committed to enriching creativity, building self-assurance, and satisfying curiosity.
The program is designed to foster a vibrant and inclusive community of driven, and collaborative students. It is open to students 15-18 years of age within the Toronto Catholic District School Board.
Once the participants arrived, Glendale Reyes, the founder of H4 Community, gathered them to share the importance of “putting yourself out there.” He emphasizes the program’s objectives in helping individuals step out of their comfort zone and strive for greatness while prioritizing enjoyment.
The initial activity consisted of dancing with two of our FOY employees as the leading dancers. They each took turns teaching every step with precision and integrity, deconstructing the entire choreography by the conclusion of the day.
During breaks, they formed connections and engaged in basketball games to ensure that all attendees felt involved and invigorated.
To end the day off, the staff suggested the concept of developing their own routine to incorporate into the choreography. They were divided into two smaller teams and were given a few minutes to let their creativity flow.
Once the time was up, they regrouped at the center and presented their ideas, while the rest of the participants applauded and cheered.
