Tinuno, a Filipino restaurant chain located in Toronto, is known for its authentic and flavorful cuisine. Founded by Cathy Ortega and Gerald Aquintey, the restaurant aims to offer Toronto a Filipino culinary experience without a visit to the Philippines. The restaurant specializes in Kamayan, a traditional Filipino style of communal eating where food is laid down in banana leaves. Tinuno not only offers a variety of Filipino food and culture but also a unique and immersive dining experience that fosters a sense of community and warmth!
On a typical day at Tinuno, laughter and joy fill the restaurant. The restaurant offers customers a place to enjoy the rich flavors of Filipino cuisine in a positive and welcoming environment. The FOY staff, Chioma, contribute to creationing this environment by helping out in a variety of ways- from cooking to serving and cashiering. Every morning, Chioma helps out in the kitchen where she prepares delicious Turon treats, cutting fresh ingredients, and setting up the store for the day.
During our recent visit, we had the pleasure of observing the dedication and passion that goes into every dish at Tinuno. Chioma helps out serving Kamayan to customers and packing online orders. She shared that her favorite task is preparing Halo Halo, a popular Filipino dessert consisting of shaved ice, milk, and a variety of sweet toppings. Her hard work and dedication is seen through every work, demonstrating her commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.
The FOY staff at Tinuno strike to provide a welcoming and positive environment for customers. Being dedicated to customer satisfaction and joy is essential for Chioma.
