PROFILE: Toronto Community Housing (Jamestown)

Toronto Community Housing (TCH), Canada’s largest social housing provider, offers a range of youth programs, including the Rookie League program. This summer long baseball day-camp program, designed for children ages 6 to 12, focuses on encouraging child development while promoting teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship both on and off the field. The Rookie League is a key initiative in TCH’s mission to strengthen communities and support the growth of young residents, and this year, the in-person camps are running in 15 TCHC communities, including TCH Jamestown!

It’s all smiles here at TCH Jamestown, where Superhero Week brought out the inner heroes in every camper! With a variety of different activities, these kids got the opportunity to become their favourite superheroes. They started the day off by crafting masks and shields inspired by their chosen heroes, followed by with a number of action-packed games in the gym, such as freeze tag and hot potato, that kept the superhero spirit alive!

Later on, TCH Jamestown made their way to a nearby park to enjoy some outdoor fun. The campers played football, went on the swings and playground, unleashing their superhero energy into the fresh air! What a perfect way to wrap up an action-packed day!
