San Romanoway Revitalization Association holds a special summer program located in the heart of the Jane and Finch community. The camp is open to children between 5 – 12 years old, hosting a variety of fun outdoor and indoor activities that help create a highly engaging environment for everyone involved. The program is help ran by SRRA’s own staff, as well as our very own Focus on Youth counselors ensuring an amazing experience for the kids all summer long.

The camp is separated into two groups, one for older campers mainly taking place at the San Romanoway community centre and the other group for younger campers taking place in the San Romanoway apartment complex. Outdoors, they share a basketball court, playground, and tennis court, working on a rotating schedule alternating with one group doing indoor activities while the other is outside. Indoors, the campers participate in arts and crafts, games and competitions, and the occasional group Just Dance session.

The experience at SRRA is rewarding both for the counselors and campers, noting how the counselors are able to develop a strong bond with each camper through the multitude of activities. The counselors also credit the creativity each child brings to each activity, helping create a learning environment for everyone overall.

SRRA provides a fun, engaging, and community focused environment aimed at building children’s confidence and self esteem. The counselors are there at every step of the way at SRRA, making sure the lessons from this summer camp could be taken above and beyond in their own personal lives.
