As part of the Focus on Youth program at St. Wilfrid Catholic School, our FOY custodian works hard behind the scenes to keep the facilities clean, safe, and welcoming every single day. From sanitizing high-touch surfaces and prepping classrooms for the upcoming school year, he ensures the safety and functionality factors are at its best.
The daily routine always begins with checking in with the supervisor every morning to review the task schedule and outline the priorities for the day. From there, our FOY custodian dive into regular duties, which include sweeping and mopping hallways, emptying garbage bins, restocking supplies, and ensuring that every room is sanitized and ready for use.
Every day brings new responsibilities that helps build strong communication skills and a dependable work ethic. By taking ownership of the school’s upkeep, our custodian gain hands-on trade knowledge and see firsthand how a well-maintained space helps everyone at St. Wilfrid!
