PROFILE: Footsteps to Success (St. Mother Teresa)

Footsteps to Success: St. Mother Teresa is one of the three camps founded by Andre Fullerton and community partners. It is located at the high school St. Mother Teresa at 40 Sewells Rd in Markham. This camp was built to help communities move forward by offering a free six-week program to kids including Arts and Crafts, Leadership, and Sports.

Aside from the various programs offered in Footsteps to Success, a Breakfast program is also offered to the participants. This ensures a more active and lively day for both the staff and the campers. The Breakfast program runs every morning before camp, starting at 9:30 am. Each day at camp is an opportunity for the kids to grow, alongside the counsellors. Having a chance to attend camp encourages children to live a healthy and active lifestyle, and the ability to exercise their talents in many forms.

Footsteps to Success offers free admission to youth ages 5-15. The weekly agenda also consists of opening exercises by the Focus on Youth counsellors. The camp is divided into 3 sectors including Arts and Crafts, Leadership, and Sports Camp, in which campers rotate throughout the week. The campers also attend field trips once a week, including the Ontario Science Centre, swimming at local parks, libraries, Royal Ontario Museum, and many more.
