Focus on Youth provides ample opportunities for students to work in a variety of spaces. At St. Albert’s, the program has allowed two students to venture into the workplace of a custodian, allowing them to build skills that are necessary for them in life. Although their days consist mainly of cleaning, custodians uphold the quality of every space in their schools, allowing kids to enjoy their days to the best of their ability.
For these custodians at St. Albert Catholic Elementary School, Neo Andrei Gagarin and Ohene Djan, they are mainly tasked with thoroughly cleaning each classroom. As each day moves by, a new class becomes neater. On this day, especially, Neo and Ohene focused greatly on wiping down, scraping, and cleaning chairs. They cleaned up garbage by sweeping, and made sure that each window was spotless.
Every custodian at Focus on Youth is truly the unsung hero of their workplace, and is a vital part of the Focus on Youth team.
