TCE’s Mount Dennis summer camp takes place at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Elementary School. TCE (The Child Experience) is a non-profit summer camp organization dedicated to creating fun, active, and memorable experiences for kids across Toronto. At locations like the Mount Dennis camp, TCE offers a six-week program with various indoor and outdoor activities from arts and crafts to sports and team-building games. With support from students in high school and in post-secondary education, these programs give kids the chance to have fun and socialize with others their age. The camp is designed to help children grow, build friendships, and make the most of their summer!

A typical day at Mount Dennis starts off with scheduled morning games that include all the kids of the camp. After playing together, the kids are divided into groups with their counsellors to participate in rotating activities, such as arts and crafts, indoor games, and outdoor games. After a few group rotations, there’s a snack break and a lunch break. Later in the day, everyone comes together again for a big camp activity related to the weekly theme.

On the day of our visit, the camp was on its fourth day of Superhero Week: Marvel superheroes. To honour the theme, the camp watched a Spider-Man Marvel movie before wrapping up the day with sign-outs and pick-ups.

Overall, Mount Dennis is a great camp where kids in the community can come together, make friends, and have fun. Thanks to the camp director, volunteers, and student staff, the TCE Mount Dennis Summer Camp creates a safe and supportive environment for all children.
