PROFILE: CEC Administration

Focus On Youth is a summer program in partnership with the Toronto Catholic District School Board that allows high school students from all over the GTA to build their leadership skills, foster growth and build community.

At the Catholic Education Centre, there are 7 hardworking FOY admin students that help around and do various tasks that they are assigned. Their positions include Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Clerk Assistant, Administrative Clerk with Human Resources, Development Database & GIS Student, ESS Admin Support Assistant, Project Admin Assistant, Real Estate & GIS Student, and Communications Department. All of these positions contribute to helping out the greater TCDSB community in very important ways. Not only do the admin students gain valuable administrative experience, but they are leaving a lasting impact through their commitment, professionalism, and enthusiasm. All of their contributions help foster a stronger, more connected TCDSB community.

A typical day for the admin students starts off bright and early in the morning by signing in and getting to their workspace within the office cubicles. The CEC workplace is a very friendly and welcoming working environment. However, like most administrative positions, the work can become fast-paced and demanding. It can get ready busy which is why each admin student is entrusted with lots of responsibility.

Some of the common tasks that the admin students here are doing are spreadsheets, emails, processing and writing documents, moving and organizing files, and solving accommodations. These tasks require time management, attention to detail and effective communication. Despite the busy nature of the administrative role, the FOY admin students continuously and consistently rise to the challenge, doing it with ease.
