Footsteps to Success, one of the three camps established by Andre Fullerton, was created to encourage youth engagement and support the development of the metropolitan areas. This camp offers young people the opportunity to develop skills in leadership, teamwork, creativity, communication, and many more! For Footsteps to Success, their mission is to invest in youth, helping them shift their perspectives and explore new opportunities, while also benefiting their communities. And, this year, one of these camps is being held at Father Henry Carr (FHC)!

At Footsteps FHC, every day is full of energy, excitement, and opportunities to learn and grow. Campers dive into a variety of disciplines—from Sports and Arts to STEM and Leadership—giving them a chance to explore their interests and discover new talents. One moment they might be playing a spirited game, the next they’re working on a creative project or heading out on an exciting trip. Each activity is designed to be fun, engaging, and enriching. Programs like these help campers build skills while creating memories they’ll carry with them for years. With such a lively and welcoming atmosphere, every day at Footsteps FHC feels like a new adventure.

A typical day at Footsteps FHC starts off with parents/guardians signing their children in, breakfast for campers, and fun icebreakers and morning energizers in the gym. With their energy bubbling, campers are able to head off to their first two morning rotations in Sports, Arts, STEM, or Leadership offered at all of our Footsteps camps.
Once morning rotations are over, campers enjoy lunch (sometimes a pizza lunch!) and then head on to their final two rotations. Every day, campers are able to rotate between the four disciplines, ensuring that they can explore and engage in the wide variety of activities prepared by our very own FOY staff. By the end of the day, campers go home with full hearts, and excited for the activities they will engage in the next day!

In addition to Footsteps FHC’s typical daily programming, campers have the opportunity to go on weekly field trips with the camp, with this year’s trips including watching Lilo and Stitch at Cineplex Vaughan, Playtime Bowl, and Sports Day at Footsteps St. Mother Teresa!
