FOY Camp at St Timothy’s is one of three camps around the GTA affiliated with Focus on Youth. The Focus on Youth summer program aims to build up the community by investing in youth, giving them stronger self-identification, and exposing them to different opportunities. The Focus on Youth staff continue to deliver this goal as they bring positive energy, effort, and enthusiasm to each day.
Each day at the St. Timothy camp begins with registration at the foyer, followed by morning games and icebreaker activities in the gym to brighten up the energy. This gives fellow campers and leaders to spend time to meet new faces, engage in fun experiences, and lots of games and activities!

After morning activities, campers are split into groups to participate in rotations led by the Focus on Youth leaders; Arts, Sports, STEM, and Leadership. Throughout the week, students participate in activities such as icebreakers to learn new names or arts and crafts activities, followed by a 15 minute snack break after each rotation. After the second rotation, campers, counselors, and coordinators break for lunch.
Post lunch activities include 2 more rotations before signing off to end the day. To end the day off, campers are sent to the gym to meet with their parents, while the Focus on Youth counselors and coordinators debrief about the day and plans for future weeks ahead.

On certain days of the week, special events and activities may occur at the camp! On Wednesdays, fun field trips are organized for the campers. For this year, St Timothy spent their trip days getting strikes, watching the new Minions & Monsters, and celebrating multiculturalism!
Week 1 of the St. Timothy camp was spent learning new names and seeing new faces! With dancing, leadership, and arts, the campers caught a glimpse of what the upcoming weeks of FOY camp can look like. For the next week, the coordinators and counsellors had organized Disney themed events throughout each day! St. Timothy’s first weekly field trip was spent watching the new Minions Movie, where leaders had dressed up as minions to celebrate in Minion spirits!

Week 3 at the camp was spent appreciating the environment, with a coordinated nature theme. Activities included creating bug houses and plant silhouette art, with lots of snacks and fun! The next week included a space theme, where campers and counsellors dressed up in spirit to go bowling. Showing their strong appreciation for the kids and local community, the St. Timothy’s camp had also hosted a community appreciation breakfast for week 5, where the entire neighborhood was invited for a barbecue lunch made by the counsellors!
With the exceptional enthusiasm and effort of the St. Timothy team, the youth had an amazing 6 weeks at FOY Camp! From sign-in to dismissal, each counsellor brought their best energy forward every day.
