Profile: St Alban’s Boys and Girls Club (Lawrence Heights Middle School)

The St Albans Boys & Girls Club was founded in 1949 and has over 100 Clubs located in 700 community service locations across Canada. They have passionate, well trained staff and volunteers who lead various programs and services such as daycare, after school, sports, youth leadership, summer camp, arts programs, employment programs and more. At St. Alban’s, they aim to maintain and strengthen the services for children and youth while growing to meet the changing needs of the community.

This boys and girls club is widely known as “a good place to be”. This is because they continue to do activities like arts and crafts, physical activities that include Ultimate Frisbee and Dodge ball, children and youth learn and develop team building, social and sportsmanship skills. In addition these programs are for all ages and once a week they go on exciting trips to places like African Lion Safari, Fantasy Fair, beaches and the movie theater.

The Boys & Girls club encourage positive attitudes all around and a make sure the campers feel strong sense of community. Many of the younger children and youth have made special friendships with each other which show in their cheering and support for one another. The smiles and laughs at St. Alban’s Boys and Girls Club showcase that campers and staff alike have an amazing time and look forward to spending their day together.
