Founded in 1981. Delta Family Resource Center is a non-profit, community-based agency which is committed to enhancing the potential of families and children by supporting their needs. They provide a wide range of programs, services and activities that enhance individual skills and promotes well-being and healthy communities. Delta is known for strength in effective outreach, collaboration and strong programs. Delta’s many programs and services including youth leadership, black youth in transition, after school programs and summer camps.
Every week the center has a different program or theme running which can be fun but influential for the kids at the same time. In the morning, the staff in charge for that day leads an important discussion. After the discussion, they would play a game based on what they learn so that they could, hopefully, take something away. Overall, the camp’s goal is to promote good behaviour within youth to better their relationship with family and friends.
Not only do they have valued discussions, but they always ensure that the kids are having fun and feeling comfortable. Whether that’s through sports, dance, swimming, games, singing, or free time, the staff prioritizes the campers’ safety and full participation. The camp also goes on weekly trips, places include Sky Zone, High Park, the Zoo, Museums and more! These trips allow the staff and children to bond.
