TCE Summer Camp Dentonia is affiliated with ‘The Child Experience,’ a charitable organization established to provide children with enriching activities by hosting summer camps across Toronto.
The camps offer children of all ages the opportunity to participate in sports, drama activities, and arts and crafts with mentors from high-schools and post-secondary institutions.
Upon arrival at TCE Dentonia, the director and counselors began the day with physical activities outside, including huckle buckle and rock paper scissors tag. The photos above show the children running around and enjoying each other’s company, all while counselors ensured everyone felt comfortable and included.
The children were eventually brought back indoors and divided into two groups for the next activity, drama. They were then familiarized with games such as Cupid’s Bow and Night at the Museum.
After completing their drama activities, the children exchanged positive words through Warm Fuzzies for art. They decorated their art pieces with stickers and drawings of their own, making sure that their gift was to their liking before exchanging it with one another. While the kids relished in customizing their pieces, the counselors circulated to ensure each child had all the necessary supplies to finish their artwork and provided assistance when needed.
TCE (The Child Experience) Dentonia’s staff and FOY counselors are committed to ensuring that each camper has a pleasurable and safe experience throughout the summer. Children in this program are highly encouraged to participate in all three activities daily, in addition to songs, team-building activities, and games.
