PROFILE: TCE Agincourt (Tam’O’Shanter Jr. Public School)

“Addressing the WHOLE CHILD: mind, body and spirit.”

The Child Experience (TCE) is a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring that children have a memorable and enriching summer experience. TCE offers vibrant summer camps where kids can build lasting friendships, participate in exciting activities and receive mentorship from students in high school and post-secondary educational institutions.

This year, TCE proudly introduced a new camp location at Tam ‘O’ Shanter Jr. Public School for Agincourt, further expanding its reach to inspire and empower young minds. TCE captures the attention of young campers aged 7 to 12 with an array of activities in arts, crafts, sports, and drama, all revolving around a captivating weekly theme. The enchanting world of Disney took center stage this week.

On Friday, July 19, the FOY Media Team delved into an exhilarating afternoon with the campers at TCE Agincourt. Despite the relentless sun, the children and their camp counsellors displayed unwavering determination and a compelling competitive spirit in their pursuit to dominate the Disney-Themed Scavenger Hunt. The camp was divided into different groups, each with a camp counsellor overseeing and leading the children. Some dashed to the playground, some surged back inside the school corridors and others scoured the yard.

Our FOY Camp Counsellors Janah, Jeyschelle, Julianna, and Elisa brought an outstanding level of passion and energy to elevate TCE’s summer camp program. Not one camper felt excluded in the game. Everyone had the chance to help their groups reach success.

In the end, the children discovered that teamwork was the ultimate treasure of the scavenger hunt. To honor their accomplishments and hard work, the Friday concluded with the camp engaging in passionate dancing and theatrical lip syncing to Disney Songs. A memory they will cherish and proudly share with their parents on the way home.
