BGC Weston-Mount Dennis Dance camp is part of the BGC St. Alban’s satellite community, which provides summer camps for ages 6-12, offering one-of-a-kind experiences to embrace an unforgettable and fun summer. BGC is dedicated to providing kids with a range of activities, both outdoor and indoor, such as, creative games, sports, arts and crafts, and weekly trips in a world of excitement. By fostering a supportive and engaging environment for all, BGC ensures a joyful summer of creative growth and learning!
On a typical day at Dance Camp a world of creativity is open as campers join forces to work together in teams and choreograph their own dances. Supportive and engaging presentations occur where campers have the opportunity to express their art and grow as a community. Besides dance, campers are also encouraged to participate in other activities such as swimming, arts and crafts, and engaging outdoor games.
During our recent visit, it happened to be raining, canceling the campers’ swimming trip. However, through smiles and laughs, camp counselors successfully created an engaging schedule for campers. From choreographing dances and karaoke to prop and slime making, campers explored sports, arts, and science experiments. The highlight of the day was when campers were able to create their own slime, submerging themselves into an experimental world. Camp counselors assisted campers in creating their dream slime from colour to texture. Afterwards, campers reflected on the experiment to ensure improvement for next time. Encouraging growth through reflection and learning through experimenting is essential to providing an unforgettable summer experience for each camper!
BGC Weston-Mount Dennis’ only FOY staff member is an experienced dancer who helps campers reach their best potential at dancing, opening a world of creative suggestions. Being dedicated to campers’ safety and joy is essential for FOY staff at BGC Weston-Mount Dennis.
