PROFILE: Frassati Tutoring

Hosted at Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati in Malvern, Frassati Tutoring is one of the two tutoring centres offered by the Focus on Youth 2024 as part of the Footsteps to Success program. The tutoring team consists of 10 tutors, led by coordinator Elona Lawrence, and provides free in-person and online tutoring for Grade 1-8 students.

For three consecutive Tuesdays, the tutoring team was visited by the Media Team. On July 16th, despite the gloomy rain hiding the sunshine and some students choosing to stay home due to weather, the Frassati tutors had a blast reviewing for future sessions and Zooming into lessons.

Students were excited to learn math and English with their enthusiastic tutors, while the rest of the team busied themselves with lesson-planning and helping counsellors around the school. A day in a tutor’s life includes a few hours of teaching, a few hours of planning, and a fun lunch break with the whole team.

Rain or shine, the lovely Frassati tutors always strive to give 110% to their students and the tutoring team. Footsteps to Success is made all the more successful with 10 lovely leaders doing their part to educate the next generation, all the while sharpening their leadership!
