The Child Experience (TCE) is a non-profit organization that runs 8 different campsites across Toronto. Their camps such as the TCE Lord Roberts locations feature a focus on sports, the dramatic arts, as well as the visual arts, in the form of arts and crafts. Over the course of the 6-week program, they aim to keep children engaged over the summer months, through different activities everyday, such as different games, singing songs, creating cheers, and participating in different team-building exercises.

A typical day at a TCE camp, such as the one located at Lord Roberts JPS, begins with opening exercises and ice breakers. Little games such as Squirt or Two Truths and One Lie, prime the campers for an amazing day ahead. Thereafter, they begin their first rotation, consisting of arts and crafts. Depending on the day, they may be given a prompt to draw something, or maybe supplies to create a little fun object. After a quick snack, they move into their next rotation, sports and games. Fun games such as Jail Tag keep the kids active and engaged as they run around, trying to avoid being caught. Finally, they move into their last rotation before lunch, the drama rotation. Whether it be an acting workshop, or a fun game like Charades, the kids give it their all.

This location features a single Focus on Youth camp counselor, who has been instrumental to the success of the camp this summer, creating a wonderful environment for the children, and who is loved by her fellow camp counselors and campers alike.
