TCE Sherwood at St. Monica is a part of the many summer camps that TCE (The Child Experience) runs across Toronto as a non-profit organization. TCE is dedicated to providing kids with unforgettable summer experiences that are both memorable and enjoyable. Throughout six weeks, kids at the camps are engaged, mentored, and accompanied by high school students who ensure a great summer experience. Each day is filled with exciting activities such as sports, arts and crafts, and drama, where kids can learn, grow, and create new connections. Ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all children is essential for the enjoyment TCE provides in all their camps!
TCE Sherwood offers campers a wide variety of engaging daily activities, from sports and creative arts to team-building games, all designed to create a fun, welcoming, and inclusive camp community. During our visit, the theme of the day was Halloween, and one of the activities we observed was a mummy-wrapping challenge, where campers worked together to wrap their camp counsellors in toilet paper. The activity encouraged teamwork, creativity, and plenty of laughter while allowing campers to fully embrace the day’s theme. By providing a diverse range of activities each day, TCE Sherwood gives campers the opportunity to discover new interests, build confidence, and create lasting memories. Their camp experience goes beyond having fun by encouraging personal growth, meaningful friendships, and a strong sense of community.
The FOY staff at TCE Sherwood is committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment where every camper can have an unforgettable summer. Throughout the day, staff actively interact with campers during activities and free time, encourage participation, and build meaningful connections that help everyone feel included. The TCE Sherwood FOY team plays an important role in fostering a positive camp atmosphere where campers can have fun, make new friends, and create lasting memories.
