PROFILE: FOY Camp (Monsignor Percy Johnson) 

FOY Camp MPJ (Monsignor Percy Johnson) is one of three camps affiliated with Focus on Youth. Established by Andre Fullerton, FOY Camps were created to encourage youth engagement and support the development of the metropolitan areas. FOY Camp MPJ allows for many young campers the opportunity to develop their skills in leadership, teamwork, creativity, communication and much more! FOY’s mission is to invest in youth, helping them shift their perspectives and explore various opportunities.

Every camp day is packed with excitement from start to finish! After campers arrive and check in, they jump right into a lively morning welcome filled with fun icebreakers that spark new friendships and set the tone for the day. Throughout the morning and afternoon, campers rotate through hands-on Arts, STEM, Sports and Leadership activities where they create, experiment, collaborate and build new skills. Between rotations, snack breaks keep everyone energized before diving into the next adventure. Lunch offers a chance to recharge, reconnect with friends, and prepare for another action-packed afternoon. As the day winds down, campers gather for engaging closing activities that celebrate their accomplishments, share memorable moments and end the day with smiles before heading home, ready to do it all over again!

Campers kicked off the summer during the first week with introductions, allowing for them to know their groups, meet new friends and settle into the camp routine. The fun continued with Disney Week, where campers stepped into a magical world filled with imagination, creativity and unforgettable moments before enjoying a trip to Cineplex to watch Minions & Monsters.

During Outer Space Week, campers explored the galaxy through space-themed activities before heading to Bowlerama for a fun-filled bowling trip. Nature Week gave campers the chance to discover the world around them and meet some fascinating creatures during Reptilia’s visit to camp.

Around the World Week celebrated different cultures and brought the FIFA excitement to MPJ’s Sports Day, where our campers showed their teamwork and school spirit to take home the win! The summer wrapped up with Carnival Week, filling the camp with games, activities and a full day of celebration. Each week brought new experiences, challenges and memories that made this summer unforgettable.

The MPJ team made this summer one to remember, creating a fun and welcoming experience for campers throughout their 6 weeks at FOY Camp MPJ. With endless energy, creativity and commitment, counsellors encouraged campers to participate, try new things and make meaningful connections each day. From morning arrivals to afternoon goodbyes, the team helped create a positive camp environment filled with excitement, laughter and unforgettable moments.
