BGC Weston-Mount Dennis is part of BGC Canada. The mission of all Boys and Girls Clubs in Canada is to provide a safe, supportive place where children and youth can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships and develop confidence and skills for life.
At BGC Weston-Mount Dennis campers engage in activities such as; outdoor physical activities, active and quiet games, sports, swimming, field trips, arts and crafts, music and much more. The program aims for campers to experience cooperative play, challenging activities, exploration, discovery and opportunities to develop their social skills, creativity and imagination.
A typical day at BGC Weston-Mount Dennis starts off with a morning activity which can range from a variety of things; like playing a group activity or conducting a science experiment. These activities always get kids immersed and excited at camp while also being educative.
The goal of the Boys and Girls Club is for all children and youth discover and achieve their dreams and grow up to be healthy, successful, and active participants in society. This is done by hiring the very best staff to support the needs of all the children. They hire well-trained and experienced children’s program staff into their Summer Camps. Many of which are returning staff who have worked in their after school programs. Camp staff members are trained in Standard First Aid and CPR-C as well as HIGH FIVE. The HIGH FIVE program provides agencies with tools for measuring the success of their recreation programs for children in the area of healthy childhood development.
