The Malvern Family Resource Centre (MFRC) is a community area for the citizens of Malvern area, but their outreach scales across Scarborough. With a variety of programs aimed at supporting their community, the MFRC elevates the voices of Malvern and Scarborough community members. The centre focuses greatly on its impact on youth and children. Their values are centred around collaboration, where they design and improve programs with their community, elevating voices, where they stand alongside residents as they share their stories and push for change, and caring for the physical, mental, social, and economic health of residents. The MFRC prides itself on its commitment to the community and ensuring that every camper belongs.

Our FOY staff member at MFRC, Daniel is placed with a variety of kids while helping other volunteers with watching them. The kids often venture outside, playing their own games or even being led by MFRC volunteers to pass the time.

Nearby, some kids can hop on the playground, and enjoy their time basking in the sun. Daniel will often join in on such games to keep the kids entertained, ensure that they have fun, and promote the positive attitude that FOY prides itself on. Daniel’s work at the MFRC is vital for easy collaboration between the two organizations, ensuring that their community is supported in a variety of ways.
